I bought this to use as supplemental lighting for portrait photography...and, after reading some mixed reviews on various photography sites, I was prepared to be disappointed.

For the money, it's a great, fun, interesting and really effective. The slave units need a bit of contrast to fire, and they are fixed-power, so you need to break out your trusty flash tables or perform some basic arithmetic.

I am having a ton of fun playing with these things, and I intend to get more and using them to create interesting effects. For the money, I couldn't be any happier.
