This flash fell short of my expectation most of the time I have to manually set the zoom distance doesn't seem to work on my canon xt that I have. For the price wasn't worth it with and auto focus camera I expected this to interact more with the camera

Four and a half stars. This is arguably the top-shelf flash unit for Canon DSLR's. It's a good unit and has rotational capability for bounced flash. With an extension you can do off camera bounce. I have mild concerns about durability of the unit and battery life with NiCads. Good recycle time. I liked the 'package deal' that included the instructional CD and NiCad batteries for a price comparable to other stores' prices for the flash unit alone. If you're looking for a top-line flash for Canon DSLR's this is a good one.

Sunpak 018ST Digital Camera Flash Enhancement Kit

I purchased this falsh to serve specifically as a slave flash for fill-ins and effects. Unfortunately the light sensor that senses the main flash does not work. It fired MAYBE 2% of the time. The only way I could get this to fire consistently was to aim it directly at the camera's flash, which obviously isn't helpful. I would not recomend this flash to anyone. Sunpac, you got it wrong...

Sony HVL-F58AM High-Power Digital Camera Flash with Wireless Ratio Control and Quick Shift Bounce for Sony Alpha Digital SLR

I bought this flash mainly to use on my A-700. I had been looking at the HVL-F42AM, but decided to spend more for the extra power. This flash is big, easy to use, has more features than I've had time to explore yet, is very quiet, has fast recycling time & best of all, it's cool how the head pivots. I bought this just in time to celebrate Halloween with my 1 yr. old grandson. The high-speed sych. worked great outdoors. I used it mostly for fill flash. Using indoors, the built in flash card works great when bouncing it off ceiling & walls which makes for a more natural looking picture with a little catch-light in the eyes. The wireless function works great also. I've used it off-camera (wireless)with another flash I own for even more fun. After having finally getting my hands on this flash & using it, I am well satisfied with my decision.

Sigma EF 500 DG Super Flash for Nikon SLR Cameras

Sigma built a winning hot-shoe mount flash head when they decided to put this one together. The flash has plenty of features for a price well below the Nikon line of flashes. It is offers plenty of power and I've found when mated to my Nikon N80 that it gives me perfect exposures every time. The built in near-infrared focus-assist beam is much better than the white annoyo-light built into consumer camera bodies, which is a real plus when working with live subjects such as grumpy old geezers or fidgety tricycle-motors. This results in more captured smiles and less squints, frowning faces, or spooked pets.

The flash unit can be set for fully automatic 3D TTL readings, or can be used in full manual mode. The stoboscopic multi-flash has an extremely wide adjustment range for strength, flash duration, and number or flashes. This is great when doing long exposures of single nearby subjects in action.

The flash unit is easy to operate and seems to be plenty durable. The instructions are easy to understand and well written. The only thing missing from this unit is a jack for use with external power sources, not a major inconvenience, but you'll want to always carry spare batteries with you.

Sony HVL-F56AM High-Power Digital Camera Flash for Sony Alpha Digital SLR Camera

This is my second flash unit. The first one is still serving me well but with two units I have a lot more control over my lighting. I t does eveything it is supposed to do. The new one is more versitile but at the price this one is hard to beat.

Kodak P20 Zoom Flash for P850, P880 & P712 Digital Cameras

This is a terrific flash unit. It delivers uniform lighting that yields excellent color and clarity. When combined with the internal pop up flash, there are no sharp shadows of the subjects in indoor photos. Also, the usable flash range is greatly extended thanks to the zoom feature of the flash and the interaction between the camera and the flash. It is well worth the extra cost.
